Why Smart People Are Broke

I know this will ruffle feathers, but let’s talk about it.

I woke up quite early today and for whatever reason, these questions popped up in my head 

“...but why are smart people often broke? I’m smart. Why was I broke all these years?”

I realize that smart people are broke not because they’re lazy… but because they overthink themselves into poverty. Trust me. I use to like to know the end from the beginning (When I’m not God)

They analyze every possible scenario.
They rehearse every “what if.”
They make flowcharts, spreadsheets, and vision boards… but never act on any.

They read 10 books on business strategy, but never test one real strategy in the marketplace.

It’s not that they don’t know enough. They know TOO MUCH. And that knowledge becomes a trap.

I used to be that person. I would sit with brilliant ideas in my head, convincing myself I was “preparing.” But really, I was scared. Scared to be wrong. Scared to fail. Scared to look foolish.

So I’d polish the plan. Add more detail. Watch more tutorials. Ask for more feedback. Meanwhile, the opportunity passed by.

That’s the curse of being “smart.” Your brain tricks you into thinking you’re making progress when all you’re doing is delaying action.

It’s called analysis paralysis. And it’s the silent killer of dreams.

You’ll never know if the idea will work until you try it.

Action creates clarity. 

Neighbor, If this stings, it’s because you know it’s true. So let this be your wake-up call: stop overthinking. Stop waiting for the “perfect moment.” Stop needing every variable to line up before you move.

Smart people stay broke because they let their brains bully their hands.

Start. Messy. Imperfect. Scared. Start anyway.
