HOW TO BECONFIDENT ON CAMERA: MY TIPS AND TRICKS

As a content creator, I've picked up a few tips and tricks that have helped me feel more comfortable and confident when I'm on camera. I'm excited to share these insights with you today!

  1. Be Prepared

One of the best things you can do to feel more confident on camera is to be well-prepared. This means knowing your material inside and out, practicing your delivery, and making sure you have all the equipment and props you need. If you're filming a YouTube video, for example, take the time to write a script or outline, rehearse your lines, and gather any visuals or props you'll be using. The more prepared you are, the more comfortable you'll feel when the camera starts rolling.

2. Dress for Success

What you wear on camera can also have a big impact on your confidence level. Choose clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable, and avoid anything that's too tight, too loose, or too distracting.

If you're unsure what to wear, think about the tone and style of the content you're filming. Dressing in a way that's appropriate for the occasion can help you feel more in control and confident.

3. Practice Makes Improvement

Like any skill, feeling confident on camera takes practice. If you're new to being on camera, start by practicing with a smartphone camera and on low-pressure platforms like Tiktok, Instagram & Facebook reels. Film yourself delivering a short speech or presenting an idea, and then watch the footage to see where you can improve.

Over time, you'll start to feel more comfortable and confident on camera. And remember, even the most experienced actors and presenters still get nervous sometimes. The key is to keep practicing and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.
